United Way Oxford's Period Promise Campaign Returns

United Way Oxford’s Women United Committee is launching the 2026 Period Promise (formerly Tampon Tuesday) campaign to address period poverty with a month-long product drive and a networking event on Tuesday, March 3.

Throughout the month of February, Oxford County residents are asked to donate menstrual products to the following Shoppers Drug Mart locations:

  • Woodstock: 959 & 333 Dundas St.
  • Ingersoll: 120 Thames St.
  • Tillsonburg: 200 Broadway St.
  • Norwich: 19 Stover St.

“Every donation of a menstrual product to our Period Promise campaign stays in the community where it is given, directly reaching those who need access to free products,” said United Way Oxford Resource Development Manager Amanda Kreiger. “We’ve heard from our partners that they’re being asked for a wide variety of products, not just pads and tampons. That’s why we’re asking the public to help provide a diverse selection of products, including diva cups and period underwear, ensuring every donation meets specific local needs.”

The campaign will conclude with a networking event on March 3 from 5 – 7 pm at the following locations:

  • Tillsonburg: Kelseys Original Roadhouse, 247 Broadway St.
  • Woodstock: Montana’s, 511 Norwich Ave.
  • Ingersoll: Scotch & Ponder, 169 Thames St. S.

Admission to the event is by donation of menstrual products. Snacks will be provided. This event is a great opportunity to network and learn more about the local issue of poverty and its impact on individuals and families in the community.

Last year, the event brought in 1,413 boxes of product and supported 20 organizations across Oxford County.

“Period poverty affects 1 in 6 Canadians who menstruate. When products are unaffordable, people may ration or extend use, risking infection. Every donation to the campaign provides menstrual products to those in need locally, helping them manage their periods with dignity.”
