Tampon Tuesday

United Way Oxford’s ‘Women United’ Committee is proud to host our annual “Tampon Tuesday” event on Tuesday, March 7th from 4-6 PM at Kelsey’s Original Roadhouse restaurants in Woodstock and Tillsonburg.

Everyone is welcome to stop by with a donation of menstrual hygiene products and enjoy an evening of networking, socializing, and going with the flow. Both Kelsey’s locations have generously supported the initiative this year by providing event space and appetizers as we come together to help support local individuals and families who are struggling with period poverty. Far too many people in our community need assistance;  no one should have to decide between buying food or buying tampons. By donating to Tampon Tuesday, groups like Ingamo Family Homes, DASO, Operation Sharing, Helping Hands Food Bank, Oxford County Community Health Centre, etc. will have supplies to help those that are struggling, especially as a result of inflation and the increased cost of such items.

United Way Oxford is proud to work with and invest in these wonderful local service providers, because no one should have to struggle alone.  All donations from Tampon Tuesday will be distributed to organizations across Oxford that are on the ground, working with individuals in need of supplies, and the items collected at each Shoppers Drug Mart and Kelsey’s locations will stay in that local community.  All Shoppers Drug Mart locations in Oxford County will be collecting menstrual hygiene products in the weeks leading up to March 7th, allowing the community to support if they aren’t able to join us for the evening. Locations include: Woodstock East, Woodstock West, Tillsonburg, Ingersoll and Norwich.

Thank you to everyone for their support of Tampon Tuesday.  Together, we are working to help end period poverty and shed a light on this #unignorable issue.
