United Way Oxford Currently at 92% of $1.2M Goal

Oxford County, Tuesday, January 30 2018 — With less than 60 days remaining until the Community Celebration, United Way Oxford is currently sitting at 92% of their $1.2M goal.

“We are so thankful for the generosity we’ve received thus far in the campaign,” says Leslie Farrell, United Way Oxford Campaign Chair. “We’ve experienced many successes that will be celebrated with our community including the fruition of the Vollmershausen Leadership Challenge Grant, many outstanding workplace initiatives and record attendance at a few of our signature events. With less than 60 days remaining in the campaign and with the help of our community, I remain optimistic that we will reach goal.”

Kelly Gilson, Executive Director with United Way Oxford adds, “Funds raised through our annual campaign make a lasting difference in our community. They ensure access to a range of targeted programs that build connections and develop local solutions, ultimately providing opportunities for brighter futures. These funds allow us to invest in the most innovative, effective and measurable programs in Oxford County that help to meet basic needs, strengthen employment readiness, support mental health and addictions, empower people and nurture our children & youth.”

“As a Member of both the Board of Directors and the Community Impact Council, I’ve learned a lot about the needs in our community. It’s what inspired me to sign on as Campaign Chair.  Together, we can create a community that we are proud to call home. I encourage everyone to take an active role by getting involved. Every dollar makes a difference,” says Farrell.
